313ale returns for DBW 2012

313ale returns for the second year!

Are you thirsty? We are. Join us Thursday, October 18 at various locations throughout Detroit and beyond as we celebrate the release of this year's 313ale: the Official Beer of Detroit Beer Week. The 2012 version of 313ale was brew-sourced (kinda like crowd-sourcing, but with brewers) and ended up a collaboration between Rochester Mills Beer Co, Detroit Brewing Company, Liquid Manufacturing, 51 North, Bastone, Copper Canyon, Kuhnhenn, and the Detroit Beer Week Team.

Bill Wamby and Eric Briggeman of RMBC sourced a bunch of local ingredients, including Carapils malt and wheat, both grown and malted in Michigan. Eric called last week to say 313ale was being dry-hopped with 14 lbs of freshly-picked wet Cascade hops, grown in St Clair Shores. The beer goes into kegs this week and will be distributed through Powers Distributing and Eastown Distributors. Contact us if you are interested in carrying 313ale at your location. A full list of featured Beer Destinations will be released and updated shortly.

313ale is a Michigan Session IPA - clocking in at about 4.6% alcohol and 40ish IBUs. The first kegs will be tapped this Thursday, 10/18 at 5:01pm (1701 in Military time - the year Detroit was founded). Keep checking back and like us on Facebook for more details.
