DBW Event: Beer Flight + Pulled Pork Slider Special at St. Cece's Pub

All through Detroit Beer Week, October 17-27, St. Cece's Pub will offer beer shot flights (2-oz. pours of each of their eight draft beers) paired with pulled pork sliders for only $10! This special is good for lunch AND dinner.

Beers include a number of different brews from Michigan breweries including Short's Brewing Company, Odd Side Ales, and Griffin Claw Brewing Company (GCBC), and one handle is reserved at all times for Murphy's Irish Stout, the stout brewed in County Cork, Ireland and always available on tap here in Corktown, Michigan! (This IS an Irish bar, remember.)

DBW Event: Wheelhouse Detroit Progressive Bike Dinner

Join Detroit Beer Week and Wheelhouse Detroit on Tuesday, October 22 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. as we go on a progressive bike dinner through the city of Detroit!

We'll start with a first course at Mudgie's Deli (with beer). We'll then move on to St. Cece's Pub for pulled pork sliders (and beer). And from there it's on to the Jefferson House for dessert (and beer). All in all you're getting a full three-course dinner with full beers at each venue, plus a guided bike ride through the city and along the beautiful Detroit Riverwalk with Wheelhouse Detroit!

Tickets are $56 and must be purchased in advance. TICKETS ARE ALL-INCLUSIVE, meaning your food, beer, tax, tip, and bike rental are all included in the price. Bring your own bike and get a $10 discount!

Located in what was formerly a traditional Irish pub and maintaining many of those same features from the previous concept (elaborate woodwork, stained glass, stone walls, a real wood-burning fireplace), St. Cece's Pub is a friendly neighborhood bar that also serves exceptional gasropub food and Michigan craft beers. They also have a late-night, lunch, and Sunday brunch menu.

DBW Event: Sammie, Soup + Beer Combo Special at Mudgie's all through DBW

For the full run of Detroit Beer Week, Mudgie's is offering a $15 combo deal for a sandwich, soup and beer combo all day every day! Sandwiches will be made with beer-braised meats and soups with beer bases. Plus Mudgie's will have different daily specials made with beer infusions for Beer Week!

DBW Event: Cans for Cans at Green Dot Stables

Cans for Cans at Green Dot Stables, 5 p.m. to midnight
Hit up Green Dot Stables on Thursday, October 24 for "Cans for Cans," when $1 of every can of craft beer sold will go to benefit breast cancer support. They'll have the following canned beers for you to crush:

MillKing It Productions: Axl, Brik, Snow
Saugatuck Brewing Company: Blonde

The event will be held in their patio that is covered, heated and has its own bar that the cans will be kept in for ease of serving!

Official Beer Destination: The Sugar House

A pre-Prohibition-inspired cocktail bar, the Sugar House is known for their seasonal hand-crafted cocktails and extensive whiskey and bourbon selection. Actually, they have an extensive selection of just about every kind of liquor and liqueur you can imagine (except, you know, Schnapps). They've also got booze-friendly small plates for nibbling and beeries are also well tended to with a stellar lineup of local and imported craft beers heavy on the sours. If it's warm, hang out on the patio with a bowl of punch. If it's cold, warm up inside from the inside out with one of their 100 classic cocktails (or any of their original creations).

Official Beer Destination: Green Dot Stables

Located on the outskirts of Corktown, jokingly referred to by owners Jacques and Christine Driscoll as "Corktown Shores," Green Dot Stables has a horse racing theme (a holdover from previous owners) and serves a variety of gourmet sliders (including a weekly "mystery meat"), Michigan craft beer and cocktails. Their menu is also vegetarian- and vegan-friendly, and the best part of all is that nothing on the menu (including the beer and cocktails) is more than $3.

Official Beer Destination: Mudgie's Deli

There are a lot of delis in Detroit all competing for our deli dining dollars. But Mudgie's Deli in Corktown is our favorite. And not just because Mudgie's now serves Michigan beers, wines, and meads (a little bit because of that, but not entirely), but because Mudgie's has been serving some of the best sandwiches in the city since they opened in 2008. As an "authentic artisan deli," Mudgie's makes everything in-house from scratch - the soups, the salads and salsas and sauces and spreads, the meatloaf; they even roast their own corned beef, which is a signature item among signature items. Whatever they don't make themselves they get from other local companies, like Calder Dairy, Great Lakes Coffee, Dearborn Sausage Co., Brownwood Farms (there's a whole list of local purveyors on the menu). Owner Greg Mudge has supported local products since the day he opened his doors, and with the recent addition of a bistro liquor license Mudgie's is promoting some of the best products in Michigan.

For Detroit Beer Week, Mudgie's will run a $15 sandwich + soup + Michigan beer special for lunch and dinner for the full 11 days, October 17-27. They'll also feature food specials infused with Michigan beer - beer-braised meats, beer-based soups, beer chili, and whatever else Greg comes up with.
